AFCONA 2028 prevents the formation of foam and blisters during the manufacturing and application of solvent-based wood finishes.AFCONA 2028 is particularly suitable as a defoamer for curtain coatings and may also be used during production. When foam causes a problem during packaging, AFCONA 2028 may be added slowly while stirring, which will speed up the bubble-breaking process. For this application, AFCONA 2028 is more user-friendly and easier to handle than AFCONA 2022 because it is less sensitive to crater formation and other well-known defoamer side effects.

AFCONA 3280 is a special modified polysiloxane that is soluble in aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, esters and ketones, but insoluble in water. It offers slip, defoaming, and improvement of surface characteristics without hurting intercoat adhesion. Additionally, it offers better hot water resistance than other polyether modified polysiloxanes.
