Vinkocide® OF is a concentrated formulation combining (Ethylenedioxy)dimethanol (EDDM) and 2-n-octyl-2H-isothiazolin-3-one (OIT), designed for use in aqueous and water-miscible systems. It offers a broad antimicrobial spectrum against bacteria, fungi, and yeasts, ensuring effective preservation. With fast action and optimal pH between 3 and 11, it provides cost-effective protection with low use levels. While it boasts excellent compatibility with most products, special formulations should be tested for compatibility. However, caution is advised with high pH (> 11) and temperatures above approximately 60°C, as they can affect stability. Notably, (Ethylenedioxy)dimethanol is incompatible with strong acids or oxidizing agents. It serves as an ideal preservative for various manufactured products, liquid-cooling and processing systems, and working or cutting fluids to control microbial deterioration.
