CompositeWrap™ UDC20 Carbon Fabric is a medium weight, high tensile strength unidirectional carbon fabric. This material is engineered to provide extremely strong, durable and lightweight composites for structural reinforcement. CompositeWrap™ UDC20 Carbon Fabric is easy to apply, corrosion resistant and can be applied at any thickness required to provide adequate structural reinforcement. It easily wets out and can be installed using the wet lay-up technique.

StarPCS™ SBMC-601 is a discontinuous carbon fiber reinforced molding compound containing carbon fiber, a vinyl substituted polysiloxane resin, and refractory particulate. SBMC-601 cures at temperatures between 180-250o C and functions as a high temperature carbon fiber reinforced structure with a silicon oxycarbide ceramic. Curing produces a green fiber reinforced composite material. Further processing to 850o C (minimum) in inert gas results in an amorphous silicon oxycarbide matrix ceramic composite that can be used as a pre-form for use with different infiltration polymers or materials. Ideal infiltration polymers include Polyramic® SPR-688 or SPR-212 based slurries (SL-227, SL-480), and other Starfire® Systems polysiloxane products.

Zoltek has developed a new product and sizing chemistry for use in vinyl ester resin systems. Introducing Zoltek’s PX35 Vinyl Ester Compatible Tow product. This new product, based on our proprietary sizing chemistry, exhibits excellent adhesion to and compatibility with vinyl ester resin systems. Most carbon fiber products are used to reinforce epoxy resin systems. Recently, the demand has grown for a product and sizing chemistry that can be used in vinyl ester resins whether cured thermally or via room temperature infusion. When compared to Zoltek’s standard carbon fiber product, PX35 Epoxy Compatible Tow, the new vinyl ester compatible product has significantly higher interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) and transverse flexural strength TFS, which both measure and indicate fiber to resin matrix compatibility and adhesion, as well as, composite performance. Zoltek’s PX35 Vinyl Ester Compatible Continuous Carbon Fiber is manufactured from a polyacrylonitrile (PAN) precursor fiber. The consistency in yield and mechanical properties that are provided by large filament count strands gives the user flexibility to design and manufacture composite materials.

StructureWrap™ V2 190 UC is a proprietary high tensile strength, stitch bonded, unidirectional carbon fiber fabriccertified by ICC-ES as meeting building code requirements. The material is combined in the field utilizingStructureWrap™ V2 200 Epoxy to form a carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminate used to strengthenand/or upgrade structural elements.
